The possibility that Youssouf Ndayishimiye Nyange, 25 years old, could be bought in the next few days for 25 billion of our francs, evidences the fact that no job is silly and that having humble origins is not a valid justification for not being where you should be.
The rumor comes from France; Youssouf Ndayishimiye Nyange, a young footballer born in Buterere, a neighborhood known for its precarious housing and poverty, is wanted by OGC Nice from France. The money that Nice wants to spend for the colossus central defender who can also play as a defensive midfielder, is 9 million euros, about 20 billion BIF. His team, Istanbul Başakşehir Futbol is asking for 12 million euros, which is a whopping amount of 25 billion put in Burundian francs.
It is hard to imagine, that there is a Burundian expertise that cost more. It does not matter what the qualifications, skills or positions of responsibility are. And yet Burundi have high-placed personalities in several circles of power and global decision-making such as the United Nations, the African Union and many others.
25 billion BIF, this amount is really colossal for someone who was playing on the courts of Buterere, with worn out cleats and without shin guards, just 4 years ago.
