Born out of a deep passion for meat, Arnaud Mugisha dream to create a space where people gather around the grill, share a meal, and connect with one another has become true. In the end of 2021, Mugisha started hosting barbecue events he called the MeatGala in Bujumbura. Now, the MeatGala is expanding beyond its roots in Bujumbura, with its first event in Kigali scheduled for May 28, 2023.

In 2021, the first MeatGala took place, and it was an instant hit. Friends, family, and colleagues gathered around the grill to enjoy delicious food and excellent company, leaving the event feeling happy, full, and connected.

At the MeatGala, the only rule is to eat without any shame. With a prepaid ticket of 50k BIF, all you need to do is come hungry and prepared, as founder Arnaud Mugisha always says. This event is all about pure vibes, where guests can enjoy games such as cards and chess while indulging in delicious food.

After the first edition, Mugisha recognized that he was onto something special and continued to host MeatGala events in Bujumbura, the capital city of Burundi, which continued to gain momentum and popularity. The word spread on social media under the hashtag #meatgala44, and soon Mugisha found himself with a devoted following of meat-lovers eagerly anticipating each new event.

However, Mugisha’s ambition didn’t stop there. His ultimate dream was to bring the MeatGala to even more people. Thus he decided to expand his circle beyond Bujumbura by taking the events to Kigali, the capital city of neighboring Rwanda.

And finally, the dream is about to come true for the first MeatGala in Kigali, and it is dated for May 28th, 2023. Mugisha is thrilled to bring his love of meat and sense of community to a new audience.
